I asked my doctor about getting a trainer. He said, “I don’t know that it will do your legs any good (I had had a stroke) but you might enjoy it.” On a return visit after training, I said, “I feel so much better!” and he said, “It shows, and your blood pressure is down.” Several months later, he said, “I was amazed with your blood test results.” So it has been all for a good purpose. Besides these medical benefits, Sam is the bright spot in my day.

Thank you for helping my mother regain her strength and stamina. We appreciate the many benefits that she gains from regular exercise under your expert tutelage. She struggles with arthritis, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s. We admire and appreciate your care and expertise.
You were extremely successful at motivating my husband to exercise on the days you visited. You designed a creative mix and very appropriate regime for him that responded to his needs and incorporated his physical and emotional limitations. You had a perfect safety record, including being outdoors in all sorts of weather. You taught me and other caregivers important facets of his physical tendencies (both strengths and vulnerabilities). When his doctor commented about Francis’ strong physical condition, we all knew it was attributable to your work with him. Lastly, you were a genuine and valued friend and conversation partner, which was greatly appreciated by the entire family. Over the years you spent 600 hours with Francis. Your skills have such strong results because it is clear to everyone that you care deeply for your clients and their families.
Workouts with Sam were the highlights of my mothers life. At 95 years of age she decided exercise would benefit her and turned to Sam for his gentle encouragement. What a marvelous decision that turned out to be. Not only did Sam work on the rebuilding of muscles but also found away of bringing laughter and joy into their time together.
For the past four years, Sam Douglas has been my trainer. He has coached me twice a week, for one hour sessions. Sam is very professional. He understands the human body. He explains to me all the muscles involved in my workout. Sam plans a program that is appropriate for age and ability with the goal of strengthening the muscles that need work. He is also aware of the personality of his clients and handles them with the appropriate psychological appraoch. I never leave a session with him without feeling better in body and mind. He is interesting, considerate and agreeable to be with. He is encouraging and easy to understand. Sam has studied hard and knows when to urge working harder and when to discourage it. I never feel concerned that any exercise he teaches me will do me harm. My workouts with Sam are the high point of my week. He has changed my life for the better.
Besides the medical benefits, Sam is the bright spot in my day.

Sam, Thanks for being there for me and for sharing your MANY gifts in such an encouraging and generous way.
Taking Sam’s classes has been the best thing that I’ve done for myself in a decade. If I paid him what he’s worth, I’d be broke.
I work out way harder than I would alone. Sam is a great motivator. I thought my athletic days were behind me, but since I started to workout with Sam, I feel stronger
than I have in years.
